Travelling from abroad - hints & tips of how to get to us
We are based in the Northern part of Sweden and our nearest big airport is Umea. Norwegian airlines and Scandinavian airlines fly here from Stockholm. There is a closer, but smaller airport called Lycksele which is only 40 minutes drive or local bus transport of about 1 hour.

London Gatwick to Umea via Stockholm Arlanda Scandinavian airlines www.flysas.com London Heathrow to Umea/Lycksele via Stockholm Arlanda Both flights connect via Stockholm Arlanda, so if you are travelling from other parts of the world you will need to fly to Stockholm to begin with and book an internal flight for the latter part of your journey. |
BUS - airport and cross countryThere is a local airport bus which will take you into Umea vasaplan. It costs 70kr, from the machine next to the bus or 50kr if you download the "Tabussen.nu" App. Buy before you board and they don't take cash. When you arrive at the vasaplan you will need to walk from there to the main bus station (see map below)
From the main bus station in Umea there are a couple of buses in the afternoon/evening which go all the way to the campsite (2 hrs 50 mins) with comfortable seats, toilet on board and free wi-fi and charging points. These are generally at 17:10hrs and 20:00hrs but there may be others so you are best to download the above mentioned App and input the following- From: Umea Busstation To: Askilje E12, Storuman The bus is the Regionbuss 31 with an end destination of either Storuman, Hemavan/Tarnaby or Mo I Rana. When you arrive into Lycksele, which is a main bus station, the driver may change over. There is then about 45 mins of your journey to go, you could ask the driver to make sure he stops at the campsite, show him the name on your phone. When you are approaching the campsite (keep an eye out on your maps) and press the Stop button. Don't forget your luggage which may be underneath the bus. |
